Old Cars spotlights a reader’s potent 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix.
Russ Colwell has put the time and effort into bringing this magnificent Poncho back to its former glory. This is what Russ had to say about his gorgeous Grand Prix…
“I’ve owned this car for 25 years. I stripped it down to bare metal and gave it a quality repaint in base coat/clearcoat. I have completely rebuilt the running gear. It has the original 389 block bored and stroked to 455. The engine has a balanced and blueprinted rotating assembly, aluminum Edelbrock heads and Tri-Power intake fitted by Butler Performance, roller cam, lifters and rockers and a Pontiac long branch headers with 2 1/2 inch exhaust. It also has a Muncie 4-speed with a positraction rear end. I don’t race it I just love to drive it. It’s a great summer car.”
