For the 28th year, Mecum Auctions, the world’s largest collector car auction company, will return to the Kansas City Convention Center to host another iteration of one of its longest-running annual auctions December 2-4.
WALWORTH, Wis.– For the 28th year, Mecum Auctions, the world’s largest collector car auction company, will return to the Kansas City Convention Center to host another iteration of one of its longest-running annual auctions. Mecum Kansas City 2021 will take place this December 2-4 and will present an estimated 700 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, trucks, exotics, Hot Rods, customs and more for auction.
A private offering dubbed From The Stampede Collection at No Reserve encompasses 16 lots of mostly Ford-built Mustang GT, Saleen and Roush models, including a rare Grabber Orange California Special 2008 Ford Mustang GT/CS (Lot S43) with a 4.6L V-8 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, a 2006 Ford Mustang Saleen S281 E (Lot S53) that is one of 125 Saleen Extremes produced and one of fewer than 10 produced in Redfire Metallic paint, and also a rare Vista Blue Metallic 2007 Ford Mustang GT Premium (Lot S41) with a 4.6L V-8 engine. A 1999 Dodge Viper GTS Coupe (Lot S55) that is one of just 339 GTS coupes produced for the U.S. market is included in the collection as well.
The Tommy Thompson Collection encompasses 33 lots all at no reserve including a broad selection of Chevrolet and Ford models, with a 1941 Willys Americar Street Rod (Lot S77), featuring a 1957 Chrysler Hemi A-block engine stroked to 427 CI, and a 1965 Pontiac GTO (Lot S92) boasting a 389 CI V-8 with Tri-Power and a 4-speed manual transmission being among the few exceptions. Other vehicles from the collection include a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe (Lot S78) with just 39,250 miles and a 427/435 HP V-8 engine, as well as a 1949 Ford Custom Deluxe (Lot S102) with a 239 CI flathead V-8 engine and 3-speed manual transmission.
