MIDLAND, Mich. — Registration is open for a new five-day camp for Michigan high schoolers who are interested in exploring their automotive curiosity this summer.
“Full Tank Automotive Camp will help students explore careers throughout the automotive industry, including design, development, manufacturing, sales, marketing, service and aftermarket,” explained Elgie Bright, who chairs the Automotive Marketing/Management program at Northwood University.
The camp will be held June 11-16 in Midland at Northwood University, which is nationally recognized in the automotive industry for both its undergraduate automotive studies and graduate-level automotive management programs.
At Full Tank Auto Camp, attendees will:
Discover their strengths and how their skills relate to the automotive industry
Meet new friends and collaborate as a team
Communicate through advertising
Problem-solve in a business setting
Learn how a profit center works
Learn about the past, present and future of the automotive industry
“With the guidance of current Northwood University students and faculty, campers will learn from industry professionals through hands-on exploration,” Bright noted. “The lessons and skills that campers learn here can start a future business leader’s career!”
The camp includes field trips, business tours, a Great Lakes Loons game at Dow Diamond, and more.
General Motors gifted Northwood University $ 100,000 to host an automotive camp. The camp is aimed at students entering high school or currently in high school for the following school year. For more information, or to sign up, visit https://www.northwood.edu/full-tank-auto-camp
